On 8 September 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming members from Estonia and Switzerland, a Swiss delegation from the Greater Berne area, and special guests to the stunning Askend offices in Tallinn for an inspiring evening of networking and knowledge exchange.
The event brought together participants from both countries, including representatives of the Digital Impact Network and Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), highlighting the strength of cross-border collaboration. The evening featured inspiring talks by Suzanne Streit, Chargé d’Affaires of the Swiss Embassy for Estonia, Mehis Sihvart, CEO of Askend, Matthias Stürmer, Professor and Head of Institute at BFH, and Melanie Noser, Managing Director of the Digital Impact Network.
Oleg Shvaikovsky, Tallinn Chapter Lead, introduced ECCS and reflected on Estonia’s pioneering digital spirit, while Mirjam Loertscher, VP & Trade Advisor at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasised the growing importance of the Estonia–Switzerland digital bridge — particularly in view of the upcoming Swiss e-ID referendum on 28 September and the ICT sector delegation visit to Zurich on 13 November.
The evening was further enriched by the presence of the Swiss national broadcaster RTS, airing its e-Estonia feature shortly after.
Heartfelt thanks go to the Askend team for hosting, Madli Abro for capturing the evening’s highlights, DJ Marek Talivere for creating the perfect atmosphere, and to everyone who joined and contributed to this meaningful exchange.
